Get out the Vote

This project includes a poster and set of 3 postcards to encourage individuals to participate in the 2018 United States Midterm Elections and voice their opinions to their local senators regarding different political issues.

The poster represents how a vote (the ballot) is more than just a piece of paper and instead represents the future of communities and the nation.

Below: Postcards illustrating different political issues. These postcards were sold at a student-run pop-up shop at BYU where the intention was for people to write to their senators about the issue portrayed on the postcard.

Postcard 1: Immigration in the United States

Postcard 2: The issue of rising housing costs

Postcard 3: To support and raise awareness of James (name changed), a BYU design alumni,  who faced deportation after having lived 10 years in the U.S. The blocks represent different parts of his life story and his achievements while the prospect of deportation ("don't deport" block) threatens to send everything he's worked for crashing down. Members of the design department used the postcard as a way to advocate for James to retain his citizenship in the U.S.
